  • Cooperation between PVTrans, PVTrans Oil and Itochu Corporation Japanese Owners on a bareboat hire purchase contract of Supramax bulk carrier

    On April 27, the receiving ceremony for 55.623 DWT bulk carrier INDIGO DEVOTION took place in Quang Ninh province. It was the fourth reception in succession regarding to PVTrans Oil’s fleet development aim, preceded by the successful acquisition of PVT Venus vessel on December 7, 2020.

    With company strategy developing Logistics services into one of the main business areas of the Company and implementing the fleet along with diversifying shipping services, PVTRANS / Phuong Dong Viet Transportation Oil Joint Stock Company (PVTrans Oil), cooperating with Itochu Corporation and Japanese partners on a bareboat hire purchase contract, held a receiving ceremony of INDIGO DEVOTION vessel sailing under the flag of Panama, no. IMO 9438640, at Hon Gai, Quang Ninh on April 27, 2021. The vessel was renamed as PVT DIAMOND.

    PVT DIAMOND is a Supramax bulk carrier built in 2011 by MITSUI TAMANO ENGINEERING & SHIPBUILDING – TAMANO, JAPAN with total deadweight 55.623 DWT, 189,99 m length, 32,26m beam, 12,55 m summer draft.Vessel has good and modern technical conditions, meeting the strict standards of the maritime industry and worldwide major customers.

    According to the fleet development strategy of PVTrans Oil, apart from the oil/chemical fleet, the Company is developing the Supramax / Handysize bulk carriers with the goal of becoming a big company in the region possessing a young and modern fleet.

    PVT DIAMOND has been delivered to PVTrans Oil end of April 2021 in order to fulfill this goal and is also the fourth youngest ship invested.
